As we got closer to the road trip, we planned and created an itinerary for ourselves. Where to eat, where to visit, what to do... that kind of stuff. A lot of it... we didn't do. But that was a good thing because we got to be spontaneous and just went with the flow. Felt good to live without restrictions for just a little.
Our first major stop in Tennessee was to the Jack Daniels Distillery.
It was a free tour with lots of history and reeked of alcohol. Best marketing ploy ever, because that night we bought ourselves a couple bottles.
Free taste of 140 proof whiskey. The smell of it carried in the air and would singe your nostrils... I was too chicken.
And we've got "Jack on the Rocks" (ha ha)
Shopped the local stores (including the Jack Daniels gift shop)
And got back on the road to go to Charleston.
Pit stop in Knoxville for lunch at the Plaid Apron.
140 proof?? That is so insane! I'd be scared to try it too - I get knocked out from 2 shots. XD
ReplyDeleteI think being spontaneous is one of the best parts about vacations. I usually have a list of things to go and see as well, but deviating off of the plan can be so thrilling...and you can discover hidden gems you never knew about that way. :)

The distillery looks really awesome. I would probably be too scared to drink too much of the whiskey but seeing it made seems like a cool experience
ReplyDeleteHella awesome photos :) xx
