New Years day was both a good day and a sad day. Sad because it was the day we took down our Christmas tree. Picked off all of the ornaments that dressed her so beautifully and hauled her off to her final resting place.
It's inevitable, but still, always a sad day.
And so, I've been hesitant to put away the rest of the little wintry decor scattered throughout my house. But now that my mini tree is officially... crispy, I realized that the time has come. Here is a last look at some Christmassy things before it's all put away until next year.
Not my home, but one in the area. Lights still up, I guess they are in the same boat as me :) |

My hubby asked me to leave everything up until "next week," and I agreed because that is the end of the 12 days of Christmas, right? I'm ready to take it down when the time comes, though, sad as it is. I just wish there were a really cozy holiday to look forward to in January! Waiting for Valentine's Day, I guess...
ReplyDeleteI don't want to take my stuff down either. We keep our tree and lights up well past New Years, and thats OK with me!
ReplyDeleteWe havent taken our tree down yet, but mostly because I'm scared of the pine needles mess it will leave. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy new year!
