City Tour: ARTpool Gallery

Something I love about exploring my city is that I am always discovering something new. But a couple weeks ago, my mind was blown and I wondered how have I been living in St. Petersburg for this long, and not known about ARTpool Gallery? I just stumbled upon it by accident while driving by on Central Ave and seeing a courtyard full of plants and outdoor seating. I decided to take a peek inside and my jaw dropped.

The place has a funky atmosphere filled with vintage treasures you just want to take home with you. There is so much charm. But it’s more than just a vintage store in St. Petersburg, it’s record store, event space, art gallery, café, bar… and the list goes on. It definitely has all the makings for a habitual hangout place.

I have absolutely added this place to my St. Pete favorites among others. 

City Tour: The Trunk Stylists

One of my most favorite places to shop these days in St. Petersburg is at The Trunk Stylists. Not only are the clothing and accessories sold there super cute, but so is the décor of the store. Their inventory is always changing, so every visit to the store is different. I never leave the store empty handed.

While shopping, you really can’t help but stop and marvel at the vignettes of cute, vintage knick knacks placed all around the store. The owner really has an eye for design. 

If you’re like me and appreciate style suggestions, they also provide style consultation to give you ideas on how to wear certain pieces. In fact, you can also host a private styling party at their store or your home and they’ll bring some of their clothing and accessories. I say, it’s a pretty convenient way of redressing your closet in a fun new way.

Their inventory also includes items made from local designers and artists. You already know I’m a fan of shopping local and supporting small business. So there’s another point for The Trunk Stylists. 

If you happen to be in town and in the Grand Central district, I highly recommend stopping by. But if can’t visit their store, check out their website for the same products and get them shipped to your home. Sunday Breakfast: The Avenue in St. Petersburg

If you've ever wondered where to get brunch in St. Petersburg, The Avenue is definitely a place to try. Apart from their hard to decide weekend brunch choices and gotta-have mimosas, the restaurant is really cute! It's one of the many places on my St. Pete restaurant must eat at list. I pass it all the time when I go downtown and I heard their burgers and brunch menu were awesome. So when my friend Samantha and I wanted to go out for brunch, it was the perfect opportunity to go. 

I ordered stuffed french toast, of course no surprise there, and Samantha got the Cali Burger. 

How cute are these chairs and the chandelier? and the wood walls? and that deer??? Totally in love with everything about this restaurant.

Taco Bus

There's really nothing like two old friends catching up over food. One evening, my friend Kimmy and I got together and grabbed a couple burritos and pineapple sodas over at the Taco Bus in St. Petersburg.

I'm totally into the food truck craze. 

City Tour: Misred Outfitters

Grand Central District is lined with little vintage treasures and has become one of my favorite blocks to explore. The last time I was there, I visited Paper Street Market, and this time, I stopped in Misred Outfitters. This buy, sell and trade shop is filled with vintage and classic clothing and accessories. If you're looking for one of a kind pieces that can't be found anywhere else, this is definitely the place to be.




Consignment shops like this are a great alternative to buying new, which is a simple solution for sustainability. But Misred Outfitters takes it to another level by offering their own upcycled clothing lines. Brilliant! One of the lovely gals at the shop filled me in on how the pieces were made for their newest line, Black Label. Each piece is made right here in St. Petersburg from recycled clothing, cut apart and sewn together again with other patterns. No fabric is left behind in the process and the result is a beautiful and unique must-have piece for your closet.

A local stylish and fashion forward brand, made locally and is eco-friendly, that just can't be beat!



Can I also just take a second to say how amazing this boutique is put together? Did you see the industrial racks and shelving made of pipes? And these hard cover books and displays? I couldn't take enough pictures of this shop!

City Tour: The Pie Factory & Toucan's Coffee House

When I first heard about The Pie Factory, I just knew it was a place I had to go to. It’s a bit of a drive from my house and just outside of St. Petersburg in Largo, which is a good thing because otherwise, I would be there all the time. You can grab lunch or coffee at their Toucan’s Coffee House Café, but I was there for the dessert. There’s a huge selection of pies and cakes with all of the flavors I love: key lime, coconut cream, strawberry rhubarb…

 I would be spoiled rotten if I lived any closer to this place.

City Tour: Paper Street Market

The Grand Central District in St. Petersburg on Central Avenue is home to a ton of art galleries, antique shops, clothing boutiques and eclectic restaurants and bars. It's a street that you want to drive down slowly and make mental notes of where you want to stop by next time you're in the area. Or if you're like me, you pick a place and quickly turn in to park. That's exactly what I did when I saw Paper Street Market.

Its vintage furniture and home accents displayed in the windows and the welcoming opened doors were just calling me in. I just knew my visit would be worth it. When I walked in, I was not disappointed. 

This store offers a mix of industrial pieces, timeless vintage furniture, jewelry, local art and knick-knacks for the nooks and crannies of your home. So many unique and (affordable) one of a kind pieces curated and displayed all over the store. It's fun to hunt around to see what you can find here. 

Need a monogram for your wall? How about a word? There's an entire wall devoted to a bunch of letters in different shapes, sizes and colors to choose from. Definitely one of my favorite parts of the store. One day, I'll have to go back and get some letters to spell "EAT" to put in my kitchen. :) 

I am so glad I was able to spot this shop. It's quickly become one of my favorite stores in St. Pete. I won't be a stranger to the Paper Street Market, I just hope my wallet won't hate me!
