Record Player

The latest addition to my apartment is this little record player setup in the corner nook of my home. It sits in the best place for spinning records during dinner parties, for kitchen cleaning and dancing in the living room. I've got just a few records to start my collection, but this B.B. King album is one of my favorites.

Other records: Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin and Quincy Jones.

On Creating A Wall Gallery

My apartment is slowly coming together, finally!

This apartment is truly my first one I had the opportunity to call all the shots on the decor and furniture. It's been an adventure, but I stuck with simple pieces and keeping neutral colors throughout my apartment. But here and there I added in a few splashes of color and mixing patterns to create a more organic feel.

It's been a work in progress, but it looks much more like home now that my walls are no longer bare with this wall gallery up! Many of the art pieces are of my own paintings, as well as a metal print from Tiny Prints with my photo of a marina in St. Petersburg and a cute cubs print from the Animal Print Shop

This monogram pillow from from Tiny Prints is one of my favorites. It ties in with my wall gallery paintings with its brush stroke design and adds a little color to my otherwise, very neutral couch. Guys, Tiny Prints don't just do customized stationary, definitely check out their new home decor collection too!

A wall gallery is a great way of making a room in your home look bigger than it is. My apartment is about 650 sqft, but this frame collage really adds more height to my living room, giving it an illusion of being much bigger.

I'll admit that it can be pretty tedious to put up the gallery. To make it easier for you here are some quick tips!

3 Steps to A Wall Gallery

1. After collecting your art and prints, choose your frames. You can go with one color frames or try different sizes with different colors. I love experimenting with different shapes and colors, so I chose to go with the latter of the two options.

2. Gather all of your frames and arrange them on your floor first. Don't be afraid to arrange and rearrange again until you find the best way the frames look together.

3. Cut out newspaper or kraft paper into the shapes of your frames and tape them to the wall. This way you can see how it looks on your wall and it'll give you an idea of where your nails will have to go to hang up the frames.

Have you put up a wall gallery in your home? I'd love to see it!

Around the apartment

Pillows in disarray from couch-potatoing.
Entry way table rearranging. (it's also a table where I leave almost everything)

I really need to get more art for my walls.

Gray Sofas

Hi, I'm still here. It's been a while for sure!

While I was offline, I was busy getting a new job and signing a lease for an apartment! I'll be moving soon and while I prepare to do so, I've been pinning like crazy trying to get some inspiration on how I want my new place to look. I've decided that I'm getting a gray sofa. The hunt is on!

Please join me as I share more decor inspiration and eventually my adventures putting it all together. I am so excited for it :)
