Backseat Basket

bike with a basket bike basket

I’ve been taking Lulu all around town. Over the weekend, I slung my yoga mat over my shoulders and headed to the studio and even went grocery shopping with her and this new basket. It is so liberating not having to drive to places so near my home.  Wind blowing through my hair, breathing in the fresh air, saving on gas, and not to mention the added bonus of an extra workout. Lulu the Bike, you are helping me get one step closer to a greener, healthier lifestyle

**Still need to find her some handlebar grips... but I did get to scrub away a lot of her rust

365 Project

I've challenged myself this year to share a photo a day on Instagram. Each photo that shares something I would want to remember from that day. Sometimes the little moments can be forgotten, even though we don't mean for them to. This seems like it'll be a fun thing to look back on at the end of the year! I've seen lots of versions of this project lately, some are writing in a journal or this 5 year One Line a Day Diary or sharing a photo each week rather than every day.

Follow my 365 on Instagram @meowlynn and #milynns365, and let me know if you're doing a similar project! I'd love to follow along!

{Also, remember when I was having a hard time deciding which 2013 calendar to buy? I finally decided on the Year at a Glance calendar by crannyfoundfavorites! Love it!}

Meet Lucille

red bike

Or Lulu for short :)

She is a old bike I picked up at the flea market over the weekend. I was so happy to have found her after being in the market for a bike since last summer. A few weeks ago, I came across this Papillionaire bike and needed to hurry my hunt to find a similar one, since that one is about $600. I couldn't believe I found Lucille, she's looks almost identical, only with a lot more character and costing me a lot less.

Yes, she is a little rusty.
She is fire engine red.
She has a saddle seat that would make any trip comfortable.
She has a bike rack carrier to hold... things.

and I. Love. Her.

I spent most of my weekend cleaning her up. Scrubbing away the rust and shining her frame. It was a lot of dirty work and it did horrors on my nails. Regardless, I'm proud of how she turned out. All I need is to get a couple handle bar grips! Now I can start saving some money on gas for trips to the grocery store and markets. Not to mention start riding in style all over town :)
