Sometimes when the weather is perfect, breakfast is best enjoyed outside. In this case, outside of my house entirely and at one of my favorite restaurants, Cassis American Brassiere. I had the apple and brie omelet and Joshua had a smoked salmon benedict, just in case you were wondering :)
Usually when Joshua is in town, we make breakfast together, but this time we wanted to go out for brunch. Actually, I'd be lying if I said that was the only reason. Joshua was really craving smoked salmon eggs benedict for breakfast... and I have no experience cooking an egg like that (I'm pretty intimidated by the process) and nor do I know how to cook with smoked salmon. It's a challenge I will have to face someday. Any tips for a novice egg cooker?
I share my Sunday breakfast with you guys every week, and now I wonder... what did you have for breakfast?

ohh maaan I LOVE poaches eggs. so so good I've never actually made one though! it seems so crazy. I think you can buy an egg poacher, so you can crack the egg into it and then put it in boiling water so it holds it shape better. this is the most basic way! http://smittenkitchen.com/blog/2008/08/how-to-poach-an-egg-smitten-kitchen-style/
ReplyDeleteAwesome! thanks so much for sharing, I will definitely bookmark that and follow the steps. and if all else fails, I will have to order that egg poacher. I am determined to get this right!
DeleteThis looks SO yummy. I love eggs benedict!

Smoked salmon benedict! I am not an eggs benedict kind of person, but with smoked salmon I definitely could get all over it!
ReplyDeleteI always look forward to your Sunday Breakfast posts :) It's such a lovely way to start the week!

I love Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon - I pretty much always go for it when I go out for breakfast/brunch somewhere - simply because I never make them at home!
ReplyDeleteYesterday me and my husband fancied going out somewhere to eat and we went to my favourite coffee bar - he ordered Eggs Benedict (!!), while I went for Ricotta Pancakes with a Marzipan Cream and cherries. It was delicious, definitely a Sunday breakfast!
Our guys were twins! ;) and Ricotta pancakes sound so delicious!
DeleteI don't trust my egg making skills either... but this looks way good! I'm glad you got to go out for a delicious breakfast :)
ReplyDeleteeggs benedict is one of my favs! yummmyyy!

Oh YUM. I'd like to gobble up that egg with the smoked salmon.
ReplyDeletemy breakfast was spent in bed. I worked the night before. so technically I guess it was brown sugar and cinnamon pop tarts at 0500. haha! yours looks way better than mine!
ReplyDeleteBreakfast in bed is lovely isn't it? :)
DeleteApple and brie omelet sounds so divine! I usually have a huge bowl of oatmeal, berries, brown sugar and cinnamon for breakfast.
ReplyDeletemmm, I love having that for breakfast too :) So healthy!
DeleteWhat a scrumptious breakfast! I'm getting hungry all over again!!

I had a gluten-free english muffin, one half with Vegan butter and the other with peanut butter. If I start my day with hearty carbs, I always have good energy. That way I can drink a bunch of coffee in the morning as well.

I always love treating myself to brunch! Everything looks so amazing, especially the smoked salmon. You've got me craving some this morning! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks perfect. Even though I mostly cook at home, I really love to have brunch elsewhere. It's always so much fancier and tastier than my usual bacon and eggs.
