Tidbits

Sharing tapas at Cafe Alma with Joshua, afternoon drives over the Skyway Bridge, rainbow views all the way to work, Misa lounging near me during dinner and new running shoes. That pretty much rounds up this past week.

So glad it's Friday! This weekend I'm looking forward to watching the Dark Knight, spending time with old friends and continuing the Sunday brunch tradition. I guess with my new highlighter pink shoes, there will also be lots of running in my future. Hopefully.

What are your weekend plans?

A New Bowtie for Benji

how to sew a bowtie

I was thinking about buying Benji a new bowtie collar like the one Joshua got him a few months ago (here) since he lost it. Sadly. But I thought sewing him a collar would be more fun. It seemed like a good opportunity to learn how to sew anyways, seemed simple enough. Kinda makes me seem even more of a crazy cat lady, but I'm not complaining. Benji looks cute :)

How to sew a bowtie collar for your cat:

1. Cut out a square from fabric and smaller rectangle.
2. Fold it down half way inside out so that the stitch is on the inside.
3. Sew along the edge leaving enough room to turn it right side out and hand stitch the hole.
4. Pinch your rectangle like in the picture below and wrap the smaller rectangle around the middle and stitch it together.
5. Sew the bowtie onto a collar. Done.

Misa decided that my thread spool was her new toy and got tangled in it while I was sewing.

Misa and the New Rug

Misa is the kind of cat that when you first see her, she runs away. She will hide all day in a canopy under my bed she made.  I walked into my room and  she was sleeping out in the open. I found her nuzzled up on my new rug I got from Ikea. She was licking the rug as if it was an extension of her own fur, she rolled around it, slept on it, and just wouldn't leave it alone.

It's so rare for her to be out and around. So, of course I had to take a moment to capture her cuteness.

P.S. Did you see her pink sparkly nails?

Life on the Go

I have been harboring a lot of pictures on my phone. So I complied some of my favorites here. Things ranging from Joshua using a nail filer for the first time and giving me a french tip manicure:: Emily bonding with Benji...and Benji bonding with Polar bear:: My mom "graduating" from UCF:: Beautiful helical staircase at the Dali Museum and a view of the Pier from inside:: Misa and her bed, she is always there sleeping in weird positions:: New year at the Thai Temple in Tampa with my line sisters!

Misa and Her Bed

During my visits back home, I rarely get to see Misa because she always runs away and hides under the bed in the rooms. So tonight, we closed all the doors and trapped her in the living room. With no where to hid, she decides to rest in her kitty bed that we got when we adopted her.

Misa likes to knead the sides of the bed and make funny faces.
