Tidbits

Behind my lens, I took little snapshots of the tidbits of my week.

Sunshine after the rain.

I've spent all last week trying to find homes for these stray kittens in my backyard. 2 more homes to go!
Tulips on my shelf
Picked up some tulips on my way home from work to add a little bit of life into my room.
Cat in the Window
As I came home, I found Benji just sitting there on the window sill. When I took the picture, I didn't know or planned to get this effect. What a crazy outcome!

Everyday this week, the forecast was "cloudy with a chance of thunderstorms later in the afternoon". It rained one day. But when it rains, it pours. So at work, I stayed in at my office and spent my lunch break flipping through a magazine full of recipes I wanted to try. I've also spent some time with my old high school friends, having a grand ole time over some pizza and games. Even though this week was expected to be gray and mundane, it turned out to be a lovely week.

A New Bowtie for Benji

how to sew a bowtie

I was thinking about buying Benji a new bowtie collar like the one Joshua got him a few months ago (here) since he lost it. Sadly. But I thought sewing him a collar would be more fun. It seemed like a good opportunity to learn how to sew anyways, seemed simple enough. Kinda makes me seem even more of a crazy cat lady, but I'm not complaining. Benji looks cute :)

How to sew a bowtie collar for your cat:

1. Cut out a square from fabric and smaller rectangle.
2. Fold it down half way inside out so that the stitch is on the inside.
3. Sew along the edge leaving enough room to turn it right side out and hand stitch the hole.
4. Pinch your rectangle like in the picture below and wrap the smaller rectangle around the middle and stitch it together.
5. Sew the bowtie onto a collar. Done.

Misa decided that my thread spool was her new toy and got tangled in it while I was sewing.

Life on the Go

I have been harboring a lot of pictures on my phone. So I complied some of my favorites here. Things ranging from Joshua using a nail filer for the first time and giving me a french tip manicure:: Emily bonding with Benji...and Benji bonding with Polar bear:: My mom "graduating" from UCF:: Beautiful helical staircase at the Dali Museum and a view of the Pier from inside:: Misa and her bed, she is always there sleeping in weird positions:: New year at the Thai Temple in Tampa with my line sisters!

Friday Favorites // Back at Home

I haven't posted any Friday Favorites in a while. But today was all about home life and the things I love about it. I love doing some work on my new desk and turning around to see my kitty sprawled out on my messy bed. I gave my parents a break today and cooked my family an Asian dinner. The recipe I used for it found here. My cousin and I caught up over some cappuccino at my favorite gelato shop, Pacuigo. There's just something about a cup of coffee that is so cosmopolitan. Although I lived here nearly my entire life, I never got to appreciate what this city has to offer. I love that there's always something new to discover, so I've been doing just that. I've explored my city in the daytime, but today I've experienced the nightlife I never knew it had. Now that I have been giving this place another chance, I'm finally beginning to embrace the home I once wished to never come back to.

We even got the chance to sleep bomb a guy while walking through the bar area.

Sleeping Bombers

So I've been missing Joshua :( He's been out of the country for a few days (in Dubai now and India later). So I thought I'd share what we've been up to lately... Sleep bombing! It's when we would take pictures with our beloved sleeping friends... and occasionally strangers apparently. It all started on our plane ride out to California in October when we saw that our neighbor was sleeping. We wanted to take as many pictures as we could of our trip and I guess for whatever reason, we wanted to document that moment. We were laughing so hard we thought we'd wake him up. Ever since then, we continued with this silly game.

... and we sleep bomb cats too.

I love my man! He so handsome :3
I am smitten...
