Brick Interiors Part 2

Remember a long time ago when I shared with you my love affair with brick interiors? Here are some more homes that give off that industrial and urban look I love. I found these photos while I was over at one of my all time favorite blogs, MadeByGirl.

Check the rest of them over at the MadeByGirl Blog and see how you can get that industrial glam look too!

I really really want to recreate this in my home. What's your favorite interior design style?

White Elegance

For days I've been sifting through piles of color pallets and going through design photos to decide which color to repaint my guest bedroom and family room. I've been mainly focusing on warm and dark colors. But as I was going through some photos, I find myself in love with white and the elegance it exudes.

Friday Favorites // Brick Interior

I have a confession.  Well... it's not much of a confession, it's more like a fact. But, I have a love affair with exposed brick. If you know me, you know that I adore industrial and modern decor. So I love how a brick wall can give off an industrial, rustic and contemporary look, just depending on the way you dress it up. Its urban feel reminds me of the big cities like Chicago where I grew up or New York. I started thinking about brick interiors recently because I want to give some parts of my house a long overdue makeover. I have a couple walls made of beautiful brick and I wasn't sure what I could do to the walls that can draw out the bricks without hiding it behind furniture. So I checked out Pinterest (my pinboard here) for some ideas and came across so many amazing pictures of brick interiors!! I compiled them here :)

Don't you just love how the chandeliers glam up the space?? Love it!

Which one is your favorite?

My Updated Closet

Before making the move back home, I knew that I needed to update my room. It was once painted a baby pink with a slew of childish decor. But it was my closet that I really wanted to fix up. With only one rod and a shelf, this offered me no organization. It's a rather awkward closet because it's long and storage space hides behind the wall, which makes it hard to reach clothes that are further back. But I drew up how I wanted to fix it, so here's the sketch I made a couple months ago and I how it actually looks now.

I moved the dresser from a corner in my room into the closet. Can you believe it actually fits in?! My coats are hiding on the left side, then color coded light tops, darker colors on the right and my dresses hiding behind the wall. I added an extra rod under the shirts on the left for my skits and jeans, and three shelves on the right for shoes. Sigh,  that's the best I could do with it. But I dream of closets like these! One day... I hope I can make it happen :)

Let Me Adorn My Walls

I love using my computer and I pay rent, these are basically the only two reasons why I stay at my apartment. Maybe occasionally to give Joshua some space. But while I am here, I can't stand just sitting in a boring white room. So, like I said in my earlier post (here), I would nail up something on the walls. I finally got around to it. I had nails, but no hammer. Unfortunately, I had to use my iron to help me.

I always needed a place to keep my necklaces organized and untangled. This worked out perfectly to do just that, while giving some color to my room.

I could've added more, but I moved a lot of my pictures and paintings home. But this is something simple to make life here a bit smoother.

Blank Dilemma

So, I finally moved all of my stuff out of Joshua's room into my own. I rearranged some of the furniture in here and unpacked all my clothes... well... most of it since my dresser will not fit anymore. But now I am surrounded by white walls. An empty canvas really... but I will only be living here for another two and a half months so I don't really want to put the effort to decorate it. I'll probably just nail in a picture or two on the walls. But that's it. So I'll just dream on about my next living space. I came across these pictures of a 350 square feet studio in Manhattan that I just love!

I can't believe it's so small. I wouldn't mind living in a studio or loft if I could live in a big city for a few years. Maybe I can soon!

Retreat Home

Since I am graduating so soon, I am getting very excited for a new chapter in my life. Getting a real job. Getting a house of my own. Things are getting crazy! So I started following some blogs and I came across this beaaauuutttiiifulll house!! It's a house I could only dream to live in! I love modern, contemporary homes with big windows and a spa-like feel... surrounded by trees. I'm a nature lover, I think it's so beautiful, so naturally I would love a home surrounded by the Earth's beauty. Look at this home in Sydney, Australia! I want one just like it! :0)

And this one too!! A river runs straight under the house. It's in the Sequoia National Park.
